We have all seen the headlines right? If you do an internet search on the subject as I just did, you will get somewhere in the neighborhood of 29 million results….yes, that is MILLION with a big M. To put that into perspective, a search on nursing shortage returns about 3 million results, and a search on engineer shortage (all types combined) returns about 8 million results. As you can see, there is no doubt that the topic of driver shortage is a big issue that affects most companies not just trucking companies.
Over the next few months, TeamOne will publish a series of articles about the driver shortage…what is driving it, the impact it is having, and get into possible solutions for companies like yours.
One thing is very clear, companies that address this issue head-on and have already begun planning and acting are going to have an advantage over those that have not.
